Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Cupping Therapy in Cremorne Sydney.
TCM Cupping Therapy is a technique used to improve blood flow. It targets the tight and sore muscles and tendons beneath the cupping site. Chinese Medicine theory says "where there is pain, there is poor blood flow”
How Does it work?
Where massage uses pressure based the techniques Chinese Cupping therapy uses suction to get the therapeutic benefit. Tissues beneath the cupped site will often feel much more like liquid then hard cement from before the cups went on. When the cups are on, muscle relaxing and pain relieving substances that are sent to the tissues via the blood system. These substances accumulate within the suction of the cup and they are held there for 5-10 minutes. Once the pressure is released from the cup all these substances flood the tissues below. This induces an intense relaxation response in the muscles and other convective tissues. The relief felt by the patient after the cups are released is often described like melting butter.
What can it be used for?
In my experience, I have seen good responses to cupping from patients with the following lifestyles or symptoms....
-Stress and Tension
-Office Work
-Sitting the same position for too long,
-Over Training
-Chronic injuries
-Cold accumulation in the neck and shoulders,
